Trundles Automotive – Warranty Policy
We stand behind what we sell and what we make. Every Trundles Automotive product is backed by our commitment to quality and fair service under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ).
This policy applies to all Trundles Automotive products purchased directly from us or through our authorised resellers.
1. Trundles Warranty for Our Own Products
At Trundles Automotive, we back the products we design and build in-house with pride.
We guarantee that all Trundles-manufactured goods are free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase (the Warranty Period).
If a fault is confirmed during this time, Trundles will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or refund the product in accordance with our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ).
Our warranty covers manufacturing defects - not wear, misuse, or modification - and ensures that you receive a product that performs as intended when used correctly.
All goods replaced by Trundles under warranty become the property of Trundles Automotive.
2. Manufacturer’s Warranty (Third-Party Brands)
Trundles Automotive proudly supplies products from a range of trusted manufacturers.
For these products, the original manufacturer’s warranty applies - including all warranty periods, conditions, and remedies they specify.
When you make a claim for a third-party product:
- Trundles will act as your point of contact and assist with the warranty process.
- We may return the product to the manufacturer so they can assess whether a manufacturing fault has occurred.
- If the manufacturer confirms a defect, Trundles will repair, replace, or refund the product as required under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ).
Because every manufacturer sets its own warranty terms, coverage periods and exclusions can differ between brands.
For full details, please refer to the manufacturer’s official warranty information on their website, or contact our team and we’ll point you in the right direction.
3. Warranty Exclusions
Warranties do not apply to:
- Products no longer required or incorrectly chosen by the customer.
- Products without proof of purchase.
- Customer dissatisfaction relating to comfort, appearance, or design opinion.
- Cosmetic damage to finish/coating after installation or 60 days post-purchase (whichever comes first).
- Damage caused during installation, removal, or modification not performed by a qualified installer.
- Products installed incorrectly, configured improperly, or used outside of Trundles’ specifications, setup guidance, or compatibility recommendations.
- Products where the customer has failed to follow installation instructions, technical advice, or post-sale recommendations provided by Trundles Automotive.
- Products that have been stored, handled, or installed in a way that exposes them to moisture, chemicals, or extreme environmental conditions.
- Any item that has been modified, altered, or tampered with (e.g. welding, painting, machining, adding parts).
Warranties also do not apply if Trundles determines damage arose due to:
- Misuse, neglect, overloading, or poor maintenance.
- Failure to provide requested information or evidence necessary for Trundles to assess or process a claim.
- Incorrect suspension setup, component pairing, or vehicle configuration chosen by the customer or a third party.
- Use outside of intended specifications (physical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental).
- Electrical faults caused by incorrect wiring, poor grounding, short circuits, or voltage spikes.
- Racing, competition, or off-road use beyond the product’s design intent.
- Corrosion, rust, or surface deterioration due to environmental exposure.
- Collision, impact, or abrasion.
- Installation with incompatible accessories or non-OEM hardware.
- Damage arising from transport, shipping, or packaging after delivery.
- Labour, freight, or downtime costs associated with removal, refitting, or diagnosis — even where the product is replaced under warranty.
4. Rubber Bushes and Wear Components
Rubber components (including bushes, bump stops, and seals) are subject to wear and environmental exposure.
- Warranty period: 3 months from purchase (manufacturing defects only).
- Not covered: Normal wear, chemical contamination, lack of maintenance, or deterioration from heat/oil exposure.
5. Packaging & Returns
If returned goods are not in original packaging or are damaged, Trundles may deduct reasonable repackaging costs from any refund.
6. Modifications and Vehicle Legality
Some modifications (such as suspension height adjustments) may affect your vehicle’s road legality in New Zealand. Customers are responsible for confirming compliance with LVVTA VIRM standards. Trundles accepts no liability for modifications later deemed illegal.
7. How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe your product is defective or has failed prematurely:
- Submit a claim via our Warranty Claim Form.
- Our team will assess the claim and may request further photos, installation info, or diagnostics.
- If inspection is required, you’ll receive a Warranty Reference Number (WRN) and return instructions.
- Do not return goods without prior authorisation and a WRN - unapproved returns will not be accepted.
- Once inspected, we’ll inform you of the outcome:
- If a manufacturing fault is confirmed: the product will be repaired, replaced, or refunded.
- If no fault is found: the item will be returned at your expense.
If you’re unsure whether your item is covered, contact our team - we’re happy to help before you start the process.
This policy operates alongside your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) and forms part of our Terms of Service.
